Pepperl+Fuchs inductive sensors are known on the factory floor for their green-capped threaded housings and long service life. The NBB (flush) and NBN (non-flush) cylindrical ranges detect metal targets without contact and cover the usual thread sizes from M8 to M30.
The type code is simple to read: in NBB8-18GM50-E2-V1, NBB means flush mounting, 8 is the sensing range in millimetres, 18GM50 is an M18 metal housing 50 mm long, E2 is a PNP normally-open output (E0 is NPN) and V1 is an M12 connector. Codes without -V1 have a fixed cable.
The current generation has an extended temperature range and a brass housing with a durable coating, so the same sensor works in cold stores, hot dryers and wash-down areas. We supply these sensors as replacements and for new machines — send the code from the old sensor and we match it exactly.
