About the Murrelektronik M12 and M8 Sensor Cordsets
Most sensors on modern machines plug in with an M12 or M8 connector, and the cable is the part that gets crushed, cut or worn in drag chains. Murrelektronik's moulded cordsets are made for this: a vibration-proof moulded connector, UL/CSA-approved cable and clear colour coding.
The part number tells you the build. For example, 7000-12221-6140500 is an M12 female straight connector, 4 cores 0.34 mm², black PVC cable, 5 m long; 7000-12221-6340500 is the same connector with a drag-chain PUR cable. The last digits give the length (0500 = 5 m, 1000 = 10 m).
Use PVC cable for fixed installation and PUR for moving cables in drag chains or where oil and coolant are present. We supply cordsets in the standard lengths and can quote other lengths, 90° connectors and 5 or 8-pin versions on request.
